With a humble beginning of carrying and cremating 161 dead bodies in the very first year of its existence, the Samity has silently served the people of Calcutta, Howrah and the Suburb for the last 81 years. Presently the Samity has a fleet of Four Hearse Vans to carry dead bodies, which apart from operating in Kolkata, Howrah and their suburbs, carry dead bodies to the neighbouring districts and states.
